A childhood spent roaming the saltbush plains of outback NSW and drawing all she found, artist and designer Sophie Zelder observes and documents life from the sidelines. Completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Sculpture at the Victorian College of the Arts, a traineeship in Animation and a Bachelor of Interior Design at RMIT, she works in many mediums, her most recent being Mokulito print.
Sophie has exhibited in solo and group shows and undertaken commissions. Currently based in Melbourne and working from the backyard shed, she designed her sustainable home and the surrounding eclectic garden. Filled with family, pets and a collection of weird and wonderful plants they all provide inspiration, form and life to draw from.
